About us:
The Colusa County Local
Child Care Planning Council was established in 1991
for the purpose of advising on local child care
matters including:
- assessment and
coordination of current and future delivery of
child care services and programs in Colusa
County.
- determination of
local priorities for distribution of federal,
state, and local child care development funds.
- development and
maintenance of a comprehensive county wide
community child care plan, with ongoing review
and update every five years.
- Advocacy for
funding for child care services and programs in
the county.
- Collaboration
with community agencies, businesses and
organizations to support and enhance community
child care resources and services.
- Expansion of
private sector evolvement of the quality of
child care and development services in Colusa
County through means of public education, provider
education, and provisions of support services.
Mission Statement
The primary mission
of the Colusa County Local Child Care Planning
Council (LPC) is to plan for child care and
development services based on the needs of families
in the local community. Through means of
collaboration, planning, training, and advocacy, the
LPC will serve as a forum to address the child care
needs of all families in the community, for all
types of child care, both subsidized and
non-subsidized.
Goals
- To promote and
enhance quality child care and development
services in the county through means of
trainings, collaboration and provision of
support services.
- To serve as a
source for local child care planning,
assessment, advocacy, and service development
for children and families within the county.
- To increase the
availability and affordability of quality child
care and development services to meet the needs
of the changing populations within the county.
